LTA PLEDGEBALL LEAGUES

The LTA is back for a third year running their Pledgeball Leagues.

The first League starts on Sunday June 1st, 2025, to coincide with the start of the grass court season. We’ll be running four rounds, over each calendar month of June, July, August and September.

A little reminder who Pledgeball are and how the leagues work

Pledgeball, are a research-backed charity that engages sports fans, players, and club members on environmental sustainability in a very accessible and easy way: individuals submit pledges on behalf of their club via an online platform.

The more people who pledge in support of the venue, the higher the venue then climbs up the LTA Pledgeball League Table. Each pledge will count towards a combined emissions saving figure, so you’ll be able to see the collective impact you will have as a community.

Pledges are simple, everyday actions that individuals can do to reduce their carbon footprint. The pledges are accumulated into an overall club CO2 equivalent savings figure and fed into a league ladder, which allows comparison and introduces an element of healthy competition.

Prizes

For the winning venue in each round, they will receive a £250 grant for a sustainability project at their venue. Second place, £150 and third place £100.

We are also encouraging coaches to refer people to make a pledge and running a separate league (to win £300 voucher to spend at Pro:Direct) to encourage coaches to spread the word. More information on the coaches’ leagues will be shared via the Coaching newsletter and sit in the Coach Hub.

We will also run a prize draw for all participating pledgers for a pair of tickets to the WTA 500 event held at The Queen’s Club in the 2025 season.

Communication

LTA Communications have started to be sent to venues in May and throughout the months of June, July, August and September.

Action – how can you help:

  1. Please share the communications regarding the Leagues in your own communications. We have pulled together some resources you can use on your own social media channels – LTA Pledgeball League 2025 – Google Drive
  2. Encourage venues in your County to get involved.
  3. Make a pledge yourself on behalf of your local venue.
