Play your Way to Wimbledon

How to register your event

The Play Your Way to Wimbledon, powered by Vodafone, junior tournament (previously called Road to Wimbledon) gives most players under the age of 18, an opportunity to follow in their heroes footsteps and compete for the title at Wimbledon and as a county we are seeking to get as many clubs and venues across Wiltshire involved.

There have been a few changes this year with the Entry FREE for all venues to host an event and also the organiser packs are FREE.  Plus venues can now, if they so wish, create an ‘Open Event’ perhaps grouping local clubs together to run a joint event for their players or run a closed event just for members.

Also new for 2022, there are two Play Your Way To Wimbledon junior pathways:

  • Play Your Way To Wimbledon Singles (ages 11-14)
  • Play Your Way To Wimbledon Doubles (ages 11-18)

Players Information

Players can enter into both the singles and/or doubles pathway, with separate competitions for boys and girls.

They must have an LTA Advantage membership number and an ITF World Tennis Number between 20.0 and 40.9 at the time of the event they’re competing in. A players singles and doubles ITF World Tennis Number will be used for the relevant pathway.

Once a player has won a venue stage event they automatically qualify for the county finals (singles) or regional finals (doubles).

Play Your Way To Wimbledon Singles

  • Any junior player under the age of 14 and born between 2008 and 2011 can enter.
  • Players can only enter a competition in their play county, e.g. if they play in Wiltshire, they can only enter a Play Your Way To Wimbledon event in Wiltshire.
  • The only exception to this is if the LTA Registered Venue the player is a member at is hosting an event. This would only be relevant if a player lives in a county over the border from the venue they are a member at.
  • Players start by competing locally at an event taking place at a local club, park or school with the winners progressing through to the Wiltshire County Finals at Swindon Tennis Centre on the 9th/10th July and and then onto the National Finals at Wimbledon the 7th-13th August 2022.

Play Your Way To Wimbledon Doubles

  • Any junior player under the age of 18 and born between 2004 and 2011 can enter.
  • Players can pair up with any other eligible player within their region ie South and South West only
  • Players start by competing locally at an event taking place at a local club, park or school with the winners progressing through to Regional Finals (TBC), and then onto the National Finals at Wimbledon the 7th-13th August 2022.

Venue sign up

All venues hosting a Play Your Way To Wimbledon competition must be LTA registered venues (clubs, parks & schools).

We are encouraging as many venues as possible to run ‘Open’ events, to allow local players the opportunity to compete in the event.
