GIRLS – CHICHESTER
CAPTAINS: Neil Little and Dave Morris
TEAM: Jessica, Samridhi, Gabriella, Sophia and Anika
The Wiltshire 10U girls team had an excellent weekend in Chichester, qualifying for the national finals after wins against South Wales, Sussex, and Berkshire.
Jessica, Samridhi, Gabby, Sophia, and Anika were great across the weekend, dealing with contrasting conditions across the two days — battling through the heat on Saturday before adapting well to a wet and rainy Sunday. The team did not lose a singles match across the whole event, a solid achievement against strong county opposition. The girls worked well together as a team, supporting each other throughout the weekend and making the job of captaining them a real pleasure.
Bring on the national finals in Gloucester on 6th and 7th June.

BOYS COUNTY CUP – POOLE, EAST DORSET
CAPTAINS: Lewis Fletcher and Harry Brown
TEAM: Leo, Scott, George and Felix
It was a lovely weekend for the 10U Boys County Cup down on the south coast in East Dorset. The weather was certainly on our side, although unfortunately the standard of counties and players proved very tough for our Wiltshire boys. We kicked off the weekend with two extremely challenging matches against Hampshire and Surrey. Realistically, we knew we were the underdogs, with both counties showing great depth throughout their teams. Nevertheless, the boys put in a professional effort and focused on everything they could control. They stepped up superbly, giving 100% in every shot and every point. Although the results did not go our way, I believe the boys gained valuable experience from competing at such a high level. On Sunday, we faced Dorset and felt much more evenly matched. Scott produced a fantastic win at number four in his singles, while the other boys were involved in several very close matches, all with opportunities to swing in their favour. As we know in tennis, it often comes down to a few key points, and unfortunately we were unable to convert those important moments. What Harry and I were most pleased about was the positivity among the boys and the excellent team spirit they showed throughout the weekend, both on and off the court. I would also like to say a huge thank you to all the parents for their fantastic support — not only watching every moment their own boys played, but also supporting the rest of the team throughout the weekend. A special thank you goes to Lucy Noble for sourcing the white hoodies with initials and Wiltshire printed on the back after delays with our Nike tops. They looked fantastic, and I am amazed the boys managed to keep them so white all weekend!
