Our Vision
Wiltshire Tennis is passionate and committed to creating inclusive frameworks that support the development of Wiltshire venues, players, coaches, volunteers and county teams.
Our vision is ‘Tennis Opened Up’. Tennis is for everyone. All ages, all backgrounds, all levels of fitness, all abilities. Anyone can pick up a racket, anyone can be part of the tennis family.
Our Mission
Our vision is ensuring tennis and padel in Wiltshire is inclusive, relevant, accessible, welcoming and inspiring.
Our Strategies
- VISIBILITY: Improve communications to reach more tennis and non-tennis people through social media and website.
- INNOVATION: Innovate to improve visibility, engagement & participation.
- INVESTMENT: Invest wisely with allocations of funding to plan & new initiatives.
- ACCESSIBILITY: Support growth of disability participation, school competitions and community sites.
- ENGAGEMENT: Increase levels of engagement with LTA, venues, coaches, volunteers and players.
- PERFORMANCE: Effectively organise county teams & training, & support growth of competitions in all age groups and levels.
- LEADERSHIP: Lead Wiltshire Tennis to the highest standards of governance, safeguarding & financial sustainability.
Volunteering Opportunities
We are always looking for keen and motivated volunteers to help us run our popular County programmes. The county offers numerous opportunities for individuals to help with the delivery of tennis activities throughout the year. These include:
- trustee
- coordinating responses to tennis events and competitions
- helping to organise and deliver events
- act as a host to improve the visitor experience
- photograph/video events
- general administrative support
What are the benefits of helping?
Volunteering provides an opportunity to improve on your current skills as well as create new ones, such as leadership, teamwork and organisational skills. You will also meet new people. Being part of a group of volunteers is like being in a close-knit team and social interaction is one of the main reasons why people volunteer in sport.
If you are able to give some of your valuable time, be it an hour a week or for a particular event, to helping in any way please contact us with your personal details. As some of the work would mean working with young people a LTA DBS check will be required.
