GIRLS COUNTY CUP – GLOUCESTER

Wiltshire U14 Girls delivered a strong and spirited performance at this year’s County Cup in Oxstalls, competing alongside four other counties in a closely contested event.
Led by captains Lewis Fletcher and Dave Morris, the team embraced the opportunity with enthusiasm making the most of the experience both on and off the court. The competition proved incredibly tight, particularly between Wiltshire, Devon, and Gloucestershire. Each of the three counties recorded two wins and two losses, leaving final positions to be decided by the number of rubbers won.
Unfortunately, this tiebreaker did not fall in Wiltshire’s favour, resulting in a fourth-place finish—a disappointing outcome given how evenly matched the teams were. Despite this, the girls can be proud of their efforts and the progress they made over the weekend.
The experience will undoubtedly prove valuable for their development, both individually and as a team. A big thank you goes to the parents for their support across both days—it was greatly appreciated and helped create a positive environment for the players.

BOYS COUNTY CUP – BIDEFORD
CAPTAINS: Neil Watts and Neil Little
TEAM: Jasper, Zachary, Ayman, Hector and Damian
The Under 14 Boys had a great weekend in Devon despite the weather. We played teams from Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Channel Islands. Winning against 2 counties and although coming up short against the other 2 counties we had a lot of close matches not quite go our way. The boys all fought hard and were great company to be around. It was great to have Ayman join the team and the rest of the boys will look to go even better next year. Well done boys!
