CAPTAIN: BECKY WATTS & LAUREN WALLIS
Wiltshire girls worked hard over our u18 weekend. We focused on team building and getting to know each other as the girls come from all over the county. Day 1 we faced Northamptonshire, everyone put up a strong fight but we ended up losing 7-2, although it could have been 5-4 if things would have gone our way. Our doubles play was more impressive than I’ve seen over the years. Day 2 saw us face East of Scotland, this was to be our toughest opponent and we ended up losing 6-3. Well done to Gi for a tough 3 set battle and Matilda for winning her debut singles.
Day 3 was a big day for us against Somerset, both teams battling to stay but it wasn’t to be for Wiltshire girls. They fought hard while battling colds and sickness but we eventually lost 6-3. Big effort this weekend from Rebecca who won all of her singles matches this weekend on her last ever junior county cup. Overall I was really proud of our team on and off the court.

BOYS
GROUP : 5A
VENUE: BIDEFORD
TEAM: Cameron, Michael, Oliver, Harry, Anthony, Jaydan, Hari
CAPTAIN: NEIL WATTS & WILL BAILLIE
It was a good but tough weekend for the boys in Devon. We started the weekend with routine 8-1 wins against Cumbria and Cornwall.
The last day was a straight shootout for promotion and we unfortunately lost 5-4 to Gloucestershire. The deciding doubles went to a match tiebreak where we lost 10-8. The silence in the van on the way home told how much the loss hurt but I know we will come back stronger next year.
The boys have such a good team spirit I know they will be fired up for more next year.
Big well done to Michael and Jayden for remaining undefeated all weekend.
