Our 2024 Junior Championships had a bit of a revamp with the introduction of our junior picnic, doubles pizza day and rounding off the week with a family tournament and BBQ.
Salisbury Tennis Club were once again fabulous hosts for our junior championships held at the end of August. The weeklong tournament started on the Sunday with the 8u and 9u tournament with matches overseen by the Salisbury Tennis Club Junior Leaders, giving our younger players independence and support on court.
Monday morning was when the older juniors took to the courts with the 12u and 16u boys’ and girls’ events. The 12u were also playing for an opportunity to compete in the Babolat Cup in September.
With the weather still dry the 10u players took to the courts on the Tuesday which saw some amazing matches.
Wednesday featured doubles teams of all ages and the arrival of the pizza trailer which was kindly sponsored by James Napp. Juniors were playing with the small of freshly cooked pizzas in the air which encouraged slightly faster matches!
We entered the final stages of the week with the 18u and 14u starting their matches on the Thursday with the 11u boys and girls matches heading to the courts en mass on the Friday.
No finals day this year but the introduction of a family doubles event for players of all ages playing Tie Break Tens matches. We would like to thank Prices of Bath for their kind donation of prizes for this event which saw 10 teams competing on the Saturday which was rounded off by a delicious BBQ.

Date for your diary!
The 2025 event will be held the week of the 24th August and we encourage all our juniors to put the date in the diary and find a friend to play doubles with – our challenge for 2025 is to break down the barrier of competition and to encourage all players across the county to come along and play – it’s great fun with great people and what tennis is all about!
