8U County Cup report

Our 8U County teams competed at the LTA 8U County Cup on Sunday 28th April in Southampton.

BOYS REPORT

The Boys kicked off against Hampshire and they proved to be strong but our players worked hard and played hard and some of them were close matches.  George had a really close first singles match only losing 8-10.  Felix did really well winning the only singles of this match.  On a positive we won both doubles at the end.  After this we were competing against South Wales, another strong county – Leo performed well to win both a singles and doubles in this match.  Great to see Reuben making his debut in this match. So proud of them all as they really did try and get stuck in and think we just needed that little more match play and tournaments under their belts so something to take away from this day.  Our final match was against Dorset and all boys seemed to get into it a little more – Felix won both his singles and all boys had closer matches in this one, Joshua getting more stuck in his singles matches as the day went on. A really positive way to wrap up from all.

Huge well done to Leo , George , Joshua , Felix and Reuben for your efforts and you did yourselves, your family and your county proud.

GIRLS REPORT

While the final results may not have reflected our team’s efforts, it’s essential to acknowledge the valuable experience gained and the lessons learned from this competition. Our girls showed tremendous improvement and growth throughout the event, laying a strong foundation for future success.

Our U8 girls’ tennis team participated in the County Cup event with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Despite their young age, they displayed remarkable talent, determination, and a positive attitude throughout the competition.

Well done to Gabriella, Alayna, Tallulah and Mia.
