Wiltshire’s 9 & Under girls delivered a season to remember in this year’s County Cup!
The journey began with a nail-biting win against Hampshire and Isle of Wight in the qualifying stage, a tie so close it couldn’t be separated after 4 singles and 2 doubles matches.
With everything on the line in a tense tie break shoot-out, the girls held their nerve brilliantly to clinch their place at the National Finals. What a moment!
At the National Finals, held at David Lloyd Southampton, Wiltshire showed they belonged among the very best in the country. The team played with skill, determination and team spirit, forcing their way through to the final deciding match against Middlesex.
There they faced a formidable Middlesex side, and in keeping with the theme of the whole competition, it went down to yet another tie break shoot-out. The girls gave absolutely everything, but Middlesex edged it 10–7 in a thrilling conclusion to a fantastic day of tennis. National runners-up — what an achievement!
Samridhi, Gabby, Alayna and Tallulah were absolutely amazing throughout the entire competition. They represented Wiltshire with enormous pride, and every single one of them should hold their heads incredibly high. It was a pleasure to Captain you with Becky.
