Wiltshire Tennis supports Wiltshire Council’s Inclusive events

Wiltshire Tennis and coaches from clubs across Wiltshire have loved supporting the Wiltshire Council with their inclusive events this summer.

On Friday 7 August, the newly formed Wiltshire Council Inclusive Activities Team delivered another Disability Sports Takeover event in partnership with the Shared Lives Team at Salisbury Athletics Track

The event welcomed individuals with special educational needs and/or disabilities, alongside their siblings, parents, and carers, to enjoy and experience a wide range of inclusive activities.  Coaches from Riverside TC and Victoria Park Tennis delivered the tennis offer which was a huge hit with all the participants.

The event provided families with a valuable opportunity to be active together in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.  The event was a tremendous success, attracting almost 100 attendees throughout the day.

One parent shared their appreciation, saying:

“To be able to access different activities as a family has been amazing, and seeing them interact, take part, and have fun together has made my day.”

Learning Disability Week 2026 – Wiltshire Tennis were also pleased to support the Wiltshire council local Learning Disability Sports Day held during Learning Disability week earlier in the summer.

Peter Evans and his team from Chippenham Tennis Club delivered the tennis session and the participants enjoyed a day filled with friendly competition, teamwork and laughter alongside other people in our community who are also proud to have a Learning Disability.

The event celebrated participation, inclusion and achievement, with everyone encouraging one another to have fun and do their best.
