Delta Schools Road Show

Delta Tennis Centre Schools Roadshow – December 2025

The Delta Tennis Centre Schools Roadshow took place during the week commencing 1st December 2025. Throughout the week, our coaching team visited 10 local schools, engaging with over 1,200 children from Reception to Year 2.

This roadshow aligned with an existing delivery week at the centre and was led by the Delta Tennis Centre coaching team. Delivering tennis directly in schools was a fantastic opportunity to introduce the sport to many children who may never have experienced tennis before.

The sessions were delivered by Dave Morris, Harry Brown, and Ben Bratt. Each class received a 30-minute session, which included a fun and engaging warm-up followed by three activity stations focused on different elements of tennis. The sessions were designed to be energetic, inclusive, and age-appropriate, and the engagement levels throughout the week were excellent, with children clearly enjoying the games and activities on offer.

Following the school visits, we hosted an Open Day at Delta Tennis Centre on Saturday 6thDecember. The Open Day consisted of three two-hour taster sessions, inviting all children who had participated in the school sessions to return to the centre with their families. This provided an opportunity for children to experience tennis again in a club environment and for parents to learn more about our programmes and facilities.

A total of 104 children attended the Open Day across the three sessions, with all staff in attendance. It was a hugely successful event, with children and parents alike having a great time and gaining a clear understanding of the benefits tennis can offer.

As a direct result of the Roadshow and Open Day, we recorded 12 new sign-ups, achieving an 11% conversion rate, which exceeded our original target of 10%.

A big thank you to Wiltshire Tennis and Julie Jones for their continued support on this fantastic project. We would also like to extend our thanks to all the schools that took part in the Roadshow and provided their pupils with the opportunity to try tennis.
