Play Your Way to Wimbledon County Finals 2025
With the bunting up and the banners adorning the fences Pewsey Tennis Club was ready for the Wiltshire 14u Play Your Way to Wimbledon Finals.
With qualifiers joining us from clubs and schools across the County the boys and girls draws were due to provide some epic matches and we were not disappointed. Congratulations to Henry from Salisbury Tennis Club and Una from Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club who will now be heading to the National Finals in Wimbledon in August. From everyone at Wiltshire we wish you both every success at the next stage.
The Vodafone Play Your Way to Wimbledon tournament is a national event – clubs and venues are invited to host an event with a FREE organisers pack including banners, certificates, goodies and medals and the winner proceed to the County Finals in June. If your club did not host this year please speak to your coaches and ask them to arrange an afternoon of competition. It’s simple and easy to do and the opportunities are simply amazing!
Quest for Wimbledon 2025
Wiltshire Tennis decided to pilot a new tournament this year called ‘Quest for Wimbledon’ which was aimed at players aged 9u and 10u which was to run parallel to the PYWTW County Finals. So, with the smell of a freshly baked cake wafting around the clubhouse, the bunting on the fences and the warmth of the sun the 26 players took to the court in some friendly yet competitive matches.
Each of the players who registered and played received a goodie bag with all matches being recorded on the LTA system. Hopefully, they will be inspired by the 14u players who we also competing and our hope is that the 10u players will be inspired to compete in their club qualifiers next year with their eye on the PYWTW National Finals.
Congratulations to Reuben and George our winners of this year who each received a Christy Wimbledon Beach Towel alongside their goodie bag.
As this event was such a success keep an eye out for ‘Quest for Wimbledon 2026’ which again will run for players 9u and 10u.
