Successful Year for Men’s Seniors Teams

The Wiltshire Seniors Men’s County Teams have had one of their most successful years in the LTA 2025 Men’s Seniors County Cup, winning 11 out of 16 matches in 4 age groups – 5 at home and 6 away.

The new Over 45s captained by Martyn Ledbury using 7 players won all their 4 matches and finished Champions of Division 2B, gaining promotion to the top division for 2026 – a great achievement!

The Over 60s led by Paul Williams using 9 players won the first 3 of their matches in Division 3A but then lost narrowly to Herts away to end up 2nd to Shropshire, whom they had beaten earlier all matches were closely contested.

The Over 65s captained by Andy Smith recovered from an early 2-3 loss to Hants/IoW and won their remaining 3 matches 3-2 to finish 2nd to Hants/IoW in Division 2A, using 8 players.

The Over 70s depleted by several injuries, led by James Sinclair lost their first match away v Somerset by only one game but beat Glos in their last match to end up 4th, above Somerset in Division 3B, using 7 players.

The Over 75s were unable to field 4 fit players in Division 2A this year and were obliged to withdraw at an early stage.

Having finished 2nd in their divisions, both Over 60s & Over 65s are likely to qualify for promotion in 2026, depending on entries, which makes it triple success for Wiltshire Seniors Men !!!!
