The Roger Witt Memorial Garden was designed and installed Chris & Natalie Haimes under the watchful eye of Jacky Witt during the Spring of this year. Some plants were donated by friends and the project was largely paid for out of the donations raised in Roger’s name from all those who knew and respected him in the world of Tennis. Jacky provided the plaque
The memorial bench was made by his cousin Sean English from English Oak and donated by Jacky. It was unveiled at an event celebrating Roger’s life earlier this year, attended by over 150 people, some of whom had travelled from far and wide (long-time friend Jan Matmueller travelled from Switzerland) to pay their respects to Roger. Many had been his doubles partners, but all paid tribute to Roger’s dedication to and enthusiasm for the game over many decades.
A Memory Board was created with many messages of heartfelt memories that people shared with Roger.
